I worked for 10 years as a field biologist before becoming a teacher. I participated in studies of: tortoises, leaf hoppers, butterflies, cord grass, birds, geckos, and monkeys. I've done work in conservation with invasive species eradication, bio-control agents, and identification with genetic markers. Aside from working with fabulous organisms and amazing people working as a field biologist allowed me to travel the word from Costa Rica to Australia and across the country from Utah to Massachusetts. I also had my own landscaping business for 3 years.
