S E N I O R S:

Seniors planning on attending the Santa Rosa JC - before taking Placement Test, you must register online at www.santarosa.edu under the CCCAPPLY link to receive your SRJC Student ID#.  Please pick up registration instructions in the counseling office ASAP before Placement Test signups begin on March 8th.  For questions, please drop by counseling office.  Important deadlines are approaching.

March Madness Tournament continues with opening round games to see who gets to the Final Four and who is playing on Thursday for the Championship. Opening round games include the “Bulldogs” taking on the “Back court ballers” for a chance to play the winner of the “Panda Express” vs. the SV Boyz.  In the other brackets we have the Hilo Monsters taking on the “Jacks” for a chance to play the winner of the Blond Bombers and the 1# seed HBC Boyz.  Also, Mr. Housman would like to thank the participants and spectators for the great job of picking up their garbage after the games, you are awesome!!

Attention 9th and 10th grade Volleyball players.
  High school mini volleyball camp (for non-club members) begins March 15 and goes until April 21st.  Pick up fliers from Kyra in the main office.

Leadership is hosting Junior vs. Senior Powder Puff flag football game.  If you’re interested in playing, sign-up at the table in front of the Library during lunch this week.  The game will be held April 9th. 

Interested in taking AP World or AP US History next fall?  Come to Mr. Gibson’s room K-14 on Monday March 15th to hear about all aspects of our new AP history courses. Meeting will be held during lunchtime.  If you have any questions about either class, please see Mr. Gibson.

Bring your date to the Spring Dance on Saturday March 20th the day after Convention.  It will be from 7-11pm at Jacuzzi Winery.  Attire is semi-formal.  Tickets are on sale now during lunch.

2010 Ropes Couse Leader Training. . . Are you interested in a fun and challenging outdoor activity.  Train to be a Challenge Sonoma Adventure Ropes Course Leader.  Training begins on March 11th.  For more information call 484-7759.  OR. . .stop by the College & Career Center to pick up a flier.

With spring right around the corner, the student store now has Skinny Cow ice cream cups, with only 3% fat and 16% fiber.  5 flavors to choose from:  Cookies n’ cream, chocolate fudge brownie, strawberry cheesecake, and more.  Only $1.50 ea.  Come try one today!

Attention College Bound Juniors – We will be offering “Spring College Workshops for Juniors” during the month of March.  “Countdown to College” will be presented on Monday, March 8th during A+, and “Exploring Your College Options – Building a Balanced List and Researching Colleges Today” will be offered on Friday, March 12th.  To attend, sign up and obtain a pass in the College & Career Center.  You must also obtain approval from your A+ teacher.  Space is limited.  Don’t miss out!




The Brown Bag Café is now serving Soup for Supper every Friday night.   Please join us at La Luz Center between 4:30PM & 6:00PM for soup, bread & dessert—FREE.  Bring your family, your friends & your neighbors—we’d love to share our dinner with you! La Café de Brown Bag sirve Sopa para Cena cada tarde los Viernes. Por favor, viene al Centro de La Luz entre 4:30 a 6:00 para sopa, pan y postres – GRATIS.  Traiga su familia, sus amigos y sus vecinos – nos gustaria a servirse la cena – y con una comida menos a cocer, se puede salvar su dinero para mas groceries.

Reminder to all students:
Loitering is NOT allowed in the Easy Stop/Subway parking lot.  At the request of the property owners, and due to repeated disregard of warnings from the Sonoma Police Department.  Loitering laws will be strictly enforced.  Violations may result in citation or arrest by the Sonoma Police Department and/or school discipline.  Students may remain inside the business as paying customers, but may not hang out in the parking lot. 

Attention Working Students!  If you are under 18, you must have a work permit on file to be legally employed.  Work permits must be renewed every year at the beginning of the school year.  If you have not yet obtained and/or renewed your work permit, please stop by the front desk for an application.  When the application is complete with the appropriate signatures, return the completed form to Mrs. Hawing in the College & Career Center.  Permits usually take 1-2 days to issue and they are FREE!

Students who are not following dress code
will receive their consequences as outlined in the student behavior expectations.  Dress code violations will result in demerits and after school detention.

Please remember to clean up after
yourself and dispose your trash in a garbage can.  Be responsible and respect your campus.

PROTOCOLS for Off Campus Cards
  • A new off campus card will be given to each 11th or 12th grader who is in Tier 3 and has signed permission to go off campus.  A new card will be issued each six week period.
  • You must show your card in order to go off campus – no card, no privilege.
  • If a student loses his/her card, he/she will not be able to go off campus for the duration of the six week period.
  • If a student helps another student get off campus who is not eligible (loaning card, hiding in vehicle), he/she will lose his/her off campus privilege for the duration of the six week period.  Discipline consequences also apply for the students involved.
