Ms. Kennedy Goes to New York
In January, Ms. Kennedy went to the Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, New York, to complete curriculum training in next year's "Principles of Engineering" course. The training was provided by a national company called Project Lead the Way (PLTW), which provides STEM-based curriculum to schools across the nation. Next year's course will involve the use of VEX kits, which contain various parts, sensors, and motors, that students can build and program to solve design problems. Here is an example of a marble sorter that built, using the VEX kits, by a group of teachers during January's training in New York.
