SVHS Engineers Visit UC Davis
The engineers from Ms. Kennedy's Principles of Engineering courses visited the UC Davis Viticulture and Enology and Food Science college in October. We were fortunate to have Professor Andrew Waterhouse as our tour guide along with Dr. Jill Brigham, who gave us a tour of UCD's Jess Jackson Sustainable Winery Building. This is a LEED Platinum building meaning that it is a green as green can be. Dr. Brigham told us how the building will be able to be off the grid in terms of water and electricity. It is impressive.
Students were also given information about the UC Davis student experience from the Aggie Ambassadors. These ambassadors were six current UCD students and were able to speak to life as a student. It was a valuable and appreciated view of life after SVHS.
