Sophie Armer is the Team Fuji student of the week for her glowing positivity, fantastic public speaking skills, and a strong work ethic leading to consistently outstanding academic performance.

Mauna Kea’s student of the week is Nathan Gutierrez for working hard, participating in class, and showing eagerness in all his subjects. 

Yearbook wants photos of you outside of school:  volunteering, working at after-school jobs, performing, playing music, doing any interesting hobbies, playing club sports, eating lunch off campus, etc.  Email them to svhselpadre@gmail.com , tag@svhs_yearbook on Instagram, or submit them through the ReplayIt app.

Interested in participating in a mindfulness workshop or looking for a healthy way to de-stress?  Please stop by the main office and let Nicole Lage know that you are interested, or email her at nlage@sonomaschools.org 

Seniors!  Want to be a fuzzier, runner or security guard at convention?  Application are available in I3 starting Tuesday, January 16th and must be turned in to Mr. Jones by Friday, February 23rd.  Pick up an application as soon as possible to secure your spot as part of 2018 Convention.

Attention Seniors!! It's not too late to register for Grad Night! We are extending our RUSH price of $55 through March. That's right - you can still get the Early Bird Special price if you pick up your registration form at the office and return it with your payment by March 31st!


Lunch specials for the week of 02/12 thru 02/16 (subject to change):

Thursday – Orange Chicken
Friday –  Grilled Cheese with French Fries
Salad bar is always an alternative to a hot item.  There are sandwiches on wheat bread and rolls with turkey, ham/cheese, salami/cheese, and tuna.  Mini Bars available with the purchase of lunch or lunch program.  Salad bar prices are student $2.50/Adult $3.00


COLLEGE and CAREER **Please stop by the CCC for more information**

Interested in government and leadership?  The Sonoma County Commission on the Status of Women is seeking a Junior Commissioner for the 2018-2019 school year.  The Commission meets monthly in Santa Rosa.  The Junior Commissioner will learn parliamentary procedure, team building skills, and participate in projects.  More information an application available in the CCC.  Deadline for application is Monday, February 19th.

Juniors interested in college support should attend a 10,000 Degrees information session on  Tuesday, February 20 during A+ in the CCC.  Stop by for more information and to pick up a pass.

Interested in becoming a firefighter or first responder?  Maybe just want to know what they do?  Come to an information session with Schell-Vista firefighters and learn about the Fire Explorers program during lunch on Wednesday, February 28th.  All ages welcome!

10,000 Degrees is hosting an information session about their college support program on Tuesday, February 22 during A+ in the CCC.  This session is for JUNIOR only.  Pizza will be served!  Stop by the CCC to pick up a pass.

CSF Members!  There is a meeting at lunch in the CCC on Friday, February 23rd.  You must attend 2 meetings per year!  Stop by the CCC with questions.

Seniors - The deadline to apply for financial aid for next year is coming quickly! you must submit your financial aid application (FAFSA Dream Act) by Friday, March 2nd, 2018.  the CC can help you - come see us.

Please stop by the CCC during the month of February to see “Nuestra Gente” a traveling photography exhibit which features local community members.  Nicoletta Camerin is a Sonoma photographer with a passion for storytelling and social justice.  She was recently awarded a POP UP Creativity Grant from Sonoma Country to create a photo narrative project in collaboration with Crescent Montessori students about local people with Mexican heritage living and working in Sonoma.  The goal is to open minds, build bridges, spread knowledge so all can meet in the middle together.  Come see who you recognize.

10,000 Degrees is now accepting applications for their college support program from low income, first generation college bound students.  This year, only JUNIORS are eligible to apply.  Applications are available online or in the CCC.  Drop by the CCC for more information.  The deadline to apply is Thursday, March 15, 2018.

Juniors - Are you interested in getting a head start on your college applications?  Please join the CAAT program!  Pick up an application in the CCC.  The application is due Friday, March 2nd.

Sophomores and Juniors please pick up your PSAT scores in the College & Career Center.

Seniors -  Do you need money for college?  All scholarships are listed on Naviance for 24/7 access.  We also have a new Scholarship corner in the CCC,  stop by and see what we have to offer.

Looking for a part-time job?  Check out the list of Job Opportunities on the SVHS website. Go to Counseling / College & Career /  Job Opportunities. 

Cook for the Homeless - Earn volunteer or community service hours making dinner for Sonoma Overnight Support on Tuesdays 3:30-6:00 pm.  Please call 707-939-1452 for more information.

Learn skills to work in the food industry! Last Monday of the month. Next classes are February 26 and March 26. 4-8pm. Classes held at Teen Services Sonoma, 17440 Highway 12. To register please call 707-939-1452.

Bike Mechanics Earn a Bike. Sign ups limited. 1st Sunday of every month 10am-4pm. Students select a donated bike, spend the day learning bike mechanics, at end of day the bike is theirs to keep. To sign up, contact: adrian@teenservicessonoma.org or call 707-939-1452.
