I was raised in San Rafael, California, graduating from San Rafael High. I went to a series of UC campuses, beginning with UC Berkeley and ending up at UC Santa Barbara. I graduated with honors with a BA in Environmental Biology.
After marriage and 3 children, I decided to go back to college to get my teaching credential. My mom was a teacher, and I often helped her in the classroom. I began taking classes at Sonoma State. While I was there, I also started taking music theory, organ and harpsichord lessons, as I was a church organist at the time. By the time I received my teaching credential, I had also earned another BA with honors in Music Performance.
In my teaching career, I have taught from Kindergarten to Seniors in high school: middle school Science, Physical Science and Biology at the high school level. I currently teach Advanced Biology (Anatomy and Physiology) and Lab Bio. I have also been a K-5 classroom teacher and a music teacher. In addition to teaching science, I also sing in church and symphony choruses.
My hobbies are music, gourmet cooking, gardening, swimming, reading, crosswords, and travel.
