After growing up in San Rafael, Ms. Rivara graduated from U.C. Berkeley with a bachelor's degree in physics. She got her credential from Dominican University and has been working at Sonoma Valley High School as a math teacher since the fall of 1996. She also went back to school to Sonoma State and Universidad Complutense in Madrid to learn Spanish. Over the years, she has taught most levels of math and is currently scheduled to teach Math 4 (Precalculus), AP Statistics and Applications of Advanced Mathematics. She is also teaching AVID Senior Seminar this year. She is an avid reader and loves to travel. This summer she plans to go to Belize, Mexico, Las Vegas, Zion National Park, the Grand Canyon and take a road trip through Florida. She also loves learning and is a proud, self-proclaimed nerd!
